connecting TRUTH with CULTURE

about michael

Michael grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, and graduated from Appalachian State University. Upon graduation, he married his wife, Holly, and they moved to Texas. While in Dallas, Michael earned a Masters in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Michael has been involved in student ministry for over 10 years with both middle school and high school ministries.  He is passionate about helping students see their potential within the church by reaching out to those they influence about their growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  After working for almost 5 years at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX, Michael migrated back east to become the High School Pastor at Faith Promise Church.

While Michael loves all sports, he has a special place in his heart for UNC basketball, Virginia Tech football and the Dallas Cowboys. (He is becoming a Vol fan as well!) In addition to enjoying sports, Michael can usually be found listening to good music or watching a great movie.  Most importantly, he and Holly love to spend time hanging out as a family with their 2 year old son Colt and baby girl Emory!

If you are looking for a ministry event speaker you can contact Michael through the email listed below.  Michael has been communicating to students and adults for over 7 years, with audiences ranging from 25 to 1,000, and has been the event speaker at various student camps and retreats.  You can check out a recent video of  Michael’s teaching style here.

If you are student ministry leader, whether it be full-time staff at a church or a lead volunteer who has a passion for ministry, I would love to connect with you!  I am currently working with a network of student pastors with the purpose of creating a strategic partnership focusing on how to reach students, communicate the Gospel and empower volunteers.  I am also interested in branching out via the web if there is interest.  Send me an email if you are interested in getting in on the conversation.

If you would like additional information on any of the posts or teaching series on this website, feel free to send me an email.  I am always on the lookout for new and creative ways to communicate with students and adults.
Thanks for checking out the site!
